Participate in this special intensive workshop focusing on painting and decorative techniques on gold grounds

About the Class: This is a unique occasion for gilders and painters with some previous experience to take part in an intensive short class covering techniques for painting flowers and an introduction to portrait techniques on gold grounds. Alison Woolley will have an invited guest artist, Kamille Corry participating in the workshop. Kamille is a well known classically trained realist painter whose work is known for its soft romantic quality and high level of technical skill. This is an opportunity to gain many technical insights and a practical approach to challenging techniques under the guidance of two expert teachers. This exciting class is for those who love the rich aesthetic value of gold grounds, the intensity of antique pigments and the fine quality of realist painting.
Techniques covered in the workshop:
- Decorative techniques on water gilded surfaces: punch work, incising, painted decoration
-fine art drawing techniques
-tempera painting with casein paints and egg tempera
-oil painting techniques
-varnishing techniques for gold grounds
