Artisans who teach for Florenceart Studio-school are contemporary masters
of their craft chosen for their ability to transmit their
knowledge effectively. We are happy to accommodate beginners to

Alison Woolley owner-founder of Florenceart
Studio-school
Courses taught: decorative painting
Alison is a professional artist and decorator, owner of
Florenceart.net, a decorative arts and teaching studio in Florence,
Italy.
Alison graduated with honors after winning two scholarships from the
Ontario College of Art and Design in Canada. She moved to Florence
and worked 15 years under the guidance of Florentine master artisans
before opening her own bottega in the heart of the artisan district.
Florenceart studio specializes in restoration and the production of
fine furniture finishes and decorative art for the interior design
industry worldwide. |

Roberto Passeri
Courses taught: Intro Gilding, Advanced gilding, Gilding for
restoration
Roberto is a gilder and restorer, author of numerous
publications on restoration of gilded objects, who taught for
many years and was a member of the admissions review commission
at the famous school of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure, in
Florence, the state authority on art restoration. His specialty
is the restoration of wooden objects and gilded surfaces. He has
overseen many important restoration projects in Florence, and
abroad. Among his projects of note is his role as technical
supervisor of the restoration of the altar in the cathedral of
San Giovanni Battista, where the famous painting "Beheading of
St John the Baptist" by Caravaggio is displayed, at Valletta, in
Malta. |

Marco Cavallini
Courses taught: Murals and Illusionistic Wall Painting, trompe
l'oeil, beginner and advanced levels
Our well known expert in illusionistic wall decoration, conservation
and antique painting techniques. Marco is a teacher at the State
institute of Art at Porta Romana in Florence, and at the University
of Florence in the department of the History of Architecture. He is
the author of several books and manuals. His most recent publication
is a manual on 'Quadraturismo'- architectural illusionistic painting. |

Carlo Mori
Courses taught: Wall finishes, eco friendly and age old
Carlo Mori , a Florentine artisan, studied under master artisan
Marco Cavallini and has extensive work experience applying very
high end plaster finishes internationally, in Italy, the USA,
Brazil and the Bermuda Islands. He also worked in Japan, as a
designer in residence, invited by the Kyoto Prefecture. He
speaks five languages (Italian, English, Spanish, Portuguese and
French). | |
